Helping You Find Acceptance and Peace
Welcome!
Taking the first step to seek mental wellness is never easy and such a significant move takes much courage.
And I am glad you are here!
We live in highly-stressed environments which often demand that we function as logical and rational people who engage less with our feelings.
Not listening and being attuned to our feelings and concerns within can gradually lead us to be disconnected from ourselves, our loved ones and to things that truly matter to us.
This can bring about Ignorar – which means to ignore or be unaware; deliberate or unconscious disconnection from our experiences.
Such numbing over a prolonged period can lead to high-functioning anxiety, deep-seated resentment, burnout or depression.
The Spanish verb, sentir , means to feel in the physical sense, express emotional feelings and states and to hear or to perceive sounds.
It means to feel, sense and experience and to be alive within when we begin to engage more deeply with our sensations and emotions.
Often, it is not knowledge that fills and satisfies the soul but rather, an intimate understanding and relishing the truth within us.
By exploring our present and past experiences, psychotherapy will help us to make sense of why we feel the way we do. We will begin to understand why certain situations trigger specific and/or undesirable responses. This process will enhance self-knowledge, self-awareness and develop better understanding of experiences and events in your life which have shaped us.
How do I know if I need help?
People coming for psychotherapy often say things such as:
- I always seem to be unhappy…
- I've always felt different from others and I struggle to fit in.
- I seem to feel anxious all the time and it does not feel normal to me..
- I just get so angry easily and it comes out of nowhere!
- People always tell me I am overly sensitive and tend to analyse everything
- I always seem to end up in bad relationships though deep down I know they aren't good for me
- I have big reactions to small and trivial things that happen around me
- I can’t help but sabotage all my relationships
- I don’t feel good about myself all the time
- I can’t stop the negative talk in my head...
